"Monkey" Bank

It's time for my money counting again. Well, normally I'll have my money counting session at least twice per year. :) Then I'll pass the coins to my dad to exchange it with fishmonger in the wet market.

I keep my saving habit since I was a little kid. After I got to know my hubby, I influence him to drop his coins into my monkey bank everyday before he took off his pants. :P I would say majority of the coins collected now are contributed by hubby. Although the amount accumulated in the piggy bank is not much, but this is the healthy habit that I want to passed on to the next generation. Dedicate an attractive piggy bank to the child in order to capture her/his attention to assist the child to start on the saving culture.

Looking at the monkey bank, see the logo printed on its tummy? It was a free gift gave by the BHL Bank when my parents opened a saving account for me. The bank shutdown quite a long time ago. I can't recall whether it was taken over by other bank or had stopped operations.

Tadaaa.......Look!!!
Awggggkkkk.......How to describe it? Ugly? Extraordinary? Uncommon? Or disgusting?

These 3 corns were wrapped in one packet and they're from one of the organic farm. The sweet corns that have not been husked basically won't able to tell you how's the content. So, I was kind of shock when the husk was removed. With this kind of appearance, I guess, the breed is bad, and efforts put in to cultivate the corns are not sufficient.

Somebody Step On My Tail !!!!!!!

Arghhhhhh!!!!!! I can't control my anger! Going to explode soon!!!!!! Burst out !!!!! The hot and flaming one.

If I keep quiet does it mean I have to listen to one's instruction? Should I be the one that always bullied by other party? No, definitely not!

See the mad dog above? Yes, I would like to learn from this angry dog. Barking loudly in front of those people!!!!!! See anybody dare to make noise anymore??? Huh???!!!

First Pair Of Crocs

When we were in Gurney Plaza the other day, we happened to walk by Crocs shop. They are having a promotion now (get 15% off on your third pair of crocs if you buy two pairs).

Initially hubby was thinking want to buy me a pair of sassari. I do love its style, but I don't want a long lasting expensive sandals. I would rather use the same amount of money to get few pairs of various design sandals instead. Most of the ladies will not want to just wearing the same pair of sandals, right?

So, ended up, hubby got himself a pair of yukun. The favorite-shoe-look with this new favorite style. And it doesn't look ugly like the original ones with holes everywhere :)

Crocs are made of their proprietary foam resin "croslite" and forms itself to wearer's feet. It is really soft and comfortable.

Little Inbox Went to Little India

This photo was taken when Little Inbox went to Little India a month ago. Little India is located at the Penang island. Hmm...it is somewhere around the Kuan Ying Temple and the big building of Yu Yan Sang, and between Beach Street and Masjid Kapitan Keling.

There are large numbers of Indian people have been settled here since 18 century. They settled and named the place as Little India. Unfortunately during our visit on Sunday, most of the shops were closed. If not, we'll have chance to visit their shops that sell curry spices and saree. Here is the place where you can find a lots of money changers who able to offer the best rates to change currencies.

The following photo was transformed into very old look using Bakumatsu Koshashin Generator. See the amazing conversion? The photo looks so antique.

God's Pharmacy

My colleague forwarded this precious info to me. It tells that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... all before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...God left us great clues as to what foods help what part of our body!God's Pharmacy! Amazing!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All o f the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Beauty Of Nature

Everytime when we are on our way back to Kedah, I used to watch the rural scenery outside the car window. I enjoy the pleasure looking at those wide paddy fields and spacious blue skies. Viewing at the greenery scene, it calms my mind and soothes my eyes.

This is the general appearance of a landscape on our lovely Earth.

How's Your Life?

So far, have you examine your life from various aspects? Where are you now in terms of family, career, financial, health and well being, recreation, personal, friendship, community, house hold, and spiritual?

What is the most important to you? Where your efforts are currently directed? How does this compare with your ranking of what’s most important?

In general, my life is going very well. I'm quite happy with who I am, where I am, and what I'm doing. Sometimes, even if I get a bit off course, I usually able to get back on track easily. May be it's because I'm born with "positive" psychology called optimistic.

Compared to hubby, his personality is more towards a very slight of melancholy. However, both of us make a very good partnership. Each of us learns gradually how to understand and appreciate the other. I'm dominant, and charismatic, and often has a short fuse. He is studious and quiet, possessed of more versatility than me. Although we are completely different, we make a wonderful team since each of us learns to accept the other's unfamiliar style. I believe it's the key to success moving forward.

Our aim is to live a simple and contented life.

08.08.08

This will be a memorable post on today dated 8th August 2008, timed 0808. Coincidentally, today is also the 8th day in the 7th Lunar month. Hehe...memorable not because of the Olympic Games, but I feel of suddenly want to post something on my blog at this moment. :-P

Back in 6 months ago, on Feb 8th, the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. It wasn't good at all. But now after passing through these six months, time does really heal the sorrowful moment. And...I swear I want to rub off the sad memories and start my new life.

New life started from this moment...

Wednesday Night Movie

Last evening. my dear dated me for a movie - The Mummy III. Initially we planned to go Queensbay GSC. Who knows, the 2 cinema halls scheduled for The Mummy III were fully reserved. So, we got to follow our plan B instead. We went to Cathay Cinema in BJ Complex. As per what we expected, we could select our strategic seats, cuz the tickets were only 20% sold. Furthermore, we're able to get the movie ticket as cheap as RM6 per pax.

The Mummy III is a nice movie. A truly excited movie from starting till the end. Besides the main charasters, the following caught my attention:

~ The 3 Snowmen or Yeti - The Mythical monsters believed to inhabit the Himalayas near the snow line. They are gigantic size creatures covered with shaggy fur.

~ The "mountain bull" that vomit in the plane due to airsick. Haha, its face expression is so cute! :)

Eh?? Why I focused on all these creatures?

I'm not a good story teller. Here's the synopsis extracted from IMDb :

The blockbuster global "Mummy" franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor." Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O'Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have lain forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O'Connells can stop him first......

Microwave Oven? No!

Years back, we received a microwave oven as our wedding present. It's in my kitchen all the while, but I guess I've used it not more than 5 times. It has never been my trusty kitchen helper. Not because of I don't appreciate the gift, just that I don't have confident in microwave technology. I doubt about the food quality and safety as well.

Read on The Daily Green regarding Microwave in Glass. The author highlights precautions to be noted while using microwave oven. The article says:

For health reasons, it's safer to opt for heat-resistant glass or ceramic containers for use in microwaves. It's also greener: It reduces our reliance on plastics, which create CO2 in their production, and cuts down on trash.

Heating increases the likelihood that chemicals will be released from a material. Certain chemicals called plasticizers (such as DEHA), which are used to make plastics soft and pliable, are known to pass into foods under heat. This is especially true of fatty foods like meat and cheese. Avoid using soft plastic containers, including regular plastic wrap, as well as take-out containers, in your microwave. And never reuse cartons from microwaveable meals.

Another study says that taking food which is heated up in microwave oven will cause cancer. This is scary, isn't it?

So, to be on the safe side, I prefer the traditional cooking method - the wok and the cooking stove.

Mama Won 3D!

Remember my previous post about my turn? I told my mama about my new salary figure, and mama made some investment in "4 ekor" and she won! Haha, although she just won the 3 digits, but she was so happy. :) Of course, she got extra income mah, hehe... I'm happy for her also. ;D . Mama should thank her dearest daughter, right?

Hmm...regret not to follow my mama to invest 5 or 10 bucks. If not, I will earn some extra bonus too... I know I can't be so greedy, right? Okay, never mind. At least I share the happiness to my parents.
