The Second Day Of Chinese New Year

On the second day of Chinese New Year, Chinese are extra kind to dogs and feed them well as it is believed that the second day is the birthday of all dogs. I just learn it from Wikipedia today. So, Happy Belated Birthday, Tiger!

Tiger had lots of fun yesterday. He followed my parents, cuz my mom used to give him yummy snacks, and my dad pampered him so much. He played with all my nephews and nieces. They had a great time playing with him too. Tiger was like a super star. All the kids were so busy capturing his photos. Yes, now a days, all the kids have camera phones.

Everybody loves Tiger. This tiny creature made us laugh and create lot of happiness to all the family members. What a good choice we've made to keep him as our pet. :)

Reunion Dinner

Last night, I created a new record in my life. I prepared a steamboat as reunion dinner for the whole family by myself. I used to help out mother in law and grandma in law preparing the dinner since the last couple of years when I married to hubby. But, preparing the dinner alone is my very first time. Now, I'm responsible for the reunion dinner since granny getting old, and mother in law still suffering from movement difficulties since she was diagnosed with stroke.

Fortunately I'm a good planner. I prepared some of the tiny things up front at home, packed and brought back to in law's place. Things that should never forget for steamboat are garlic oil, bird's eye chili with lime and chili sauce. Then for those fresh vegetables, mushrooms and assorted fish balls, I get them washed, cut and packed nicely to bring back. On the other hand, I reminded father in law to buy those fresh raw food like fish, prawns, squids, pork bones, chicken,...and so on.

Things turned out pretty good. Everybody enjoyed the reunion dinner. Even MIL ate up quite a lot. She never have such good appetite in these few months. So, mission acomplished. The cleaning job? Just passed on to the Indon maid. :)

Happy 牛 Year!

Moooo.......Ox Year is coming. Happy 牛 Year to all. For your information, 牛 is cow, just in case you can't read Chinese words.

So, as usual Chinese New Year is the season to have an excuse for eating to our heart's content. Yippee! I'll go to my parents place to have reunion lunch and then rush back to Sungai Petani for reunion dinner. I'll be the chef to cook dinner for in laws family. I wish everything will be fine. Just simple steamboat will do, hehe...... Also, I'll do my last minute baking. Plan to bake one butter cake for hubby & myself, then one margarine cake for my parents and parents in law each. Phew.......looks like I still have lots of task pending.

To all my readers, wishing you a very Auspicious New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai!

I Feel Better

Dear fellow friends, thanks for your concerns. I feel much better now. As planned, hubby brought me to Pragin Mall this morning. I went back to my previous reliable hair stylist Fion. I was her first customer of the day. We had a nice chat and she's so glad about the confidence I have on her skill. :) I told her how disappointed I was on my hair cut, and I let her know how I wish it could be. She truly understand my requirement and she did a very good job to save my hair. Yippy! Now I have a totally new hair cut, which I like it very much. No longer the "old grandma" look. I look pretty modern and stylish! :D

After coming back, I enjoyed my time to shape my eye brows, to do a facial exfoliating treatment, and to put up deep cleaning mask, followed by a peel off mask. Hehe...All these made me feel so great! :)

Another good news. About the running nose, it is getting well. In fact it is not so serious. I just took higher doses of Vit-C to ease it. No medicine! I prefer natural food supplements than drugs.

Things Go Wrong

I'm not feeling well these few days. I have running nose, sore throat, and stomachache. I purposely applied one day off to rest at home yesterday. I took my time to sleep.

With the current increase of work load, my time is fully occupied at work. I take up 2 additional products under my belt. Which means, I eat up my other colleague's portion. I extended my job responsibility. I have the bigger cake now. I know this will secure my job at this moment. This is the result from the re-organization.

Also, I'm not so satisfied with my new hair style. I've made up my mind to get another style. Sigh...why everything is become haywire? Why everything comes in one shot?

Now & Then

This photo was taken when Tiger was 3 months old. He looked plump & short. Also not to forget his innocent expression. :) I just like his puppy look. Very adorable indeed.

Now moving into 5 months old, I observed some changes in him. He grows taller and slightly bigger now. According to the study, Chihuahua's height will stop growing when it reaches 8 months. I wish he'll stop growing big too, so that he'll remain his current look.

After the previous allergy incident that caused Tiger abnormal shedding, now his hair grows healthily. You can see his hair grow denser and also as smooth as cotton. We just bought him daily supplement that contains B-complex vitamins. It promotes healthy skin and coat.

His coat now changed into more golden tone. His "Geisha eyebrows" no longer appear on his face. :( He looks more mature, and he is definitely more active. The only thing is that he still very timid. The other day when I carried him for a walk, his whole body shaking all along the way until I brought him home. The girls from the mini market laughed at him when they saw his legs shaking in fear. Hai...Why ler? Chihuahua is supposed to be courageous and fiery. Why Tiger is so "kia si"?

A good practice that Tiger pick up recently is he barks at stranger (to him) who enters our house. Clever pup! Now he assists to look after our house. He acts an alarm, hahaha...

This is another photo that I want to share. See his hair on both ears? It grows longer now. Really looks like the chicken feather that my mom used to tied my ponny tail when I was a little kid.

Hectic Working Life Begins

While most of the manufacturing plants facing business downturn , all the people in our factory are fully occupied in audit trainings, new quality system certification and a few products transfer. It's a good beginning for our company. In fact, the VSS exercise (read here) just retrenched a very small amount of people. One of my previous colleague was forced to leave, and currently I take over his product. So now, I have 8 products under my belt. Not to forget, another 2 R&D products going to pilot run, so I'll be super busy!

Although I'm busy, I feel more secure now. I'm grateful that I still have a job, and my boss guaranteed few of us that we will continue to hold important positions. All our customers will find how many of us under this designation when they look at the organization chart, cuz we are their communication window. :)

Only drawback is that now there's a guy who's just reporting to me really create a lot of problem. I don't really feel like delegating some of the routine jobs to him. I have no confidence in him. I plan to train up my other technician to take over his job, and transfer him to other department. I don't even feel like want to talk to him. His answers always cause me to vomit blood. Blek!! A guy who works in this company for more than 10 years, but know very little things and not willing to take up additional responsibility. He finds lots of excuses when I assign a simple task to him. Every time, he will tell you "I don't know". Argh...........geramnya............

30% Pay Cut

Yes, you hear me right. 30% pay cut. That is the latest news I heard from hubby's friend. This happens in one of the local company, which is involved in value added manufacturing for electronic products. Their CEO just announced the bad news. Effective from January '09, everyone's pay will be reduced by 30%. Sigh…what a surprise to them. Such a shocking news to the employees on the first day of work in year 2009. No doubt, their business is pretty bad even before this economic downturn. The CEO is taking some actions to save the company. Is this against labour law? Anybody have any input?

Just imagine, if one's salary is RM5500, after the pay cut, he earns RM4000 only. How many things he can do with RM1500? Quite a lot, right? What if one's pay just merely RM3000? His salary scale will immediately drop to lower or equal to a fresh graduate. Oh no!

School Re-open Headache

Tomorrow is the first day of school for the year 2009. There are 2 schools located at the main road outside our residential area. Every year on this day, the traffic condition will turn horribly bad. Tomorrow, I plan to go to work before the clock reach 7 am. I know this is the only way to escape the traffic jam.

Reach the office early is better than late, especially during this period. Got to behave at work. You know what I mean?

1st Goal For Year 2009

I really wish to have a good beginning for year 2009. To be honest, I had pretty bad luck in year 2008. Whole long list of bad happenings!! Now all is over! I have to step ahead to start a new year, and to have my own resolutions. Actually by the end of 2008, I already started to take some actions in order to achieve my goal of year 2009. So, no regret.

Hubby and I are really serious about our house make over project. I called up a contractor for an appointment on yesterday morning. Within an hour, they turned up. :) So effective. Of course this is the same contractor who renovated my parents house before, and I know that they keep their words, and they guarantee on the workmanship quality. Overall they provide good service.

Two of them are brothers. They came and view our house, and we listed down all the areas that we wish to renovate. They did the measurements and jotted down all the details. They emphasized that all the material cost has been increasing over the months, so their quotation will be a little bit higher.

When they left, I told hubby that "gai liao" cuz we have so many items need to be done. We even estimated the cost. We guess we'll need to spend at least 35 to 40k. If that is the case, then we'll have to sacrifice some area and focus on the essentials only. Hai......just try to imagine, our house is about 6 years old. We occupy it for 4 years. Wear and tear is definitely the main factor that cause some minor damages that required to fix as soon as possible. Maintenance fee is not cheap.

The contractor kept his promise, and he delivered us the quotation on time today. Hubby was the one who received it. Of course the first question I posted was on the cost la! I took a look and .......I felt totally relieved. Phew.......Took a long breathe. Total cost is RM21,350. What a reasonable price to fix all the 15 items!

Well, the renovation will only start after Chinese New Year. Although it won't transformed my house into a something grand, but definitely there are some huge changes. I'm anticipating to see the outcome!

Our 2009 New Year Eve

After enjoying our seafood dinner last night, we decided to go to my parents place. We brought Tiger along to play with Rocky. :)

You guess what? Tiger's heart "peek pok peek pok" till like going to jump out. He smelled Rocky even before we entered to house. He immediately ran into the house without taking a look at Rocky. While Rocky was there playing happily after having his milk. Rocky is now very chubby, and his coat colour is getting dark in color. He is growing pretty fast, now is very heavy. His bone is absolutely big! @~@

When we put Tiger and Rocky together, Tiger will always find his way to escape. While, Rocky would wag his tail and find his way to smell and lick Tiger. He's like very happy to meet his new friend. :) Ha, our timid little Tiger made his fierce little sound "Grrrr............" everytime Rocky approached him. Well, eventually Tiger acted quite brave to smell and lick Rocky in return. :D Rocky cries each time he sees Tiger hopping into the house. I think Rocky must be wondering why Tiger is allowed to go into the house, while he is only allowed to stay outside the house.

Now Tiger gets familiar with my family members. He likes my parents, my nephews and my nieces. He run freely to every corner of the house.

He is taking his nap now, see.....wakakaka......
