Youth Park

Last Sunday, my dear and I woke up early in the morning. We wanted to go out, but we didn't really have a destination, so we just drove around for sight-seeing. Although petrol price increase, we still like to travel around in our little car. :) No choice.

After having dim sum at Taman Pekaka, we drove all the way to Penang Hill cable car station. We thought of going for a picnic on top of the hill. Unfortunately the cable car is temporary out of service. Sigh...again? No luck, so we hopped back into our car and continue our journey.

Finally we stopped by at the Youth Park. Time is still early, so we had our morning walk there, and hubby started his photo capturing session.

We had our 15 minutes walk on this reflexology path. Although hubby felt reluctant to give it a try, however, I insisted and pull him to join me. Ouch! Auh! Both of us kept on screaming. Only a short while both of us already sweating badly. Hah, never thought we could encounter such degree of pain. Haiyah, die liao lah, all parts of body also not feeling well. We guess...

Take a close-up look. See the thousand millions of stones? They play an important role in reflexology. It is recommended not to walk for more than 20 minutes within 4 hours.

After that, we continued our morning walk. Felt so refreshing looking at the greenery. Noticed that quite a numbers of exercise equipments are set-up for public use, and it's free of charge.

This is a convenient corner for those who wanna play chess, have a short break, or just chit-chat.

A small shelter for a couple.

I really love this photo. Look at those egg-alike colorful balls. Hmm...just wondering what's the purpose of it. Decoration? Anyway, it's really beautified the garden.

We bumped into my colleague with his wife and their 2 little boys. The kids brought along their drawing papers and color pencils, drawing session there? Good idea.

After so many years not visiting to Youth Park, I noticed that efforts has been made by the government to improve the facilities for citizens. It's a good outing location.

Hi, love your pics. My time no such places except that butterfly park way up at Batu Ferringhi.
Love that Reflexology stones. Bet it hurts.
Where is this park you went to? Pity you could't go up Penang Hill.

My favorite times was on Sundays (or Saturday nights, after midnight) taking a drive around Penang Island, stop and buy nutmegs, or if durians in season, polish off a couple...with my date of course...

Penang will always hold very special memories for me...especially E&O hotel...dancing to Albert's piano oldies and Dorthy singing along.
And it was by the seawall, I decided to end my rip roaring wild days, become a more responsible man...I asked a lovely lady to be my wife.
I thus lost my Bachelor's degree, she gained her Masters.

I had purposely checked my calendar for a moonlight night, ha ha...must always do things in style..a 'moonlight Rendezvous'...

Incidentally few years before that, A lovely Penang lady broke my heart into 89 pieces! I was going to propose to her in two weeks, only her mom knew about my intentions...but she betrayed the love we had.
If free take a peek...I posted this, "A betrayal of virtues", d/d, 12/12/07 in my archives.

Infact quite a few of my past postings (romantic escapades) have been in Penang,...to me Penang and Penang girls always have that certain charm, ha ha).

Again, if free, take a peek at...
'You are not my son', d/d12/15/07.
'Memories of a Penang Rose', d/d 4/20/08.
'Bringing up Audrey', d/d 5/8/08.
'Just bring your smile', d/d 5/22/08.
And finally...the longest posting I ever posted, of a beautiful matured lady's love for a man half her age, me. 19 episodes, took 3 weeks to conclude.
Titled, "A faded letter from the past', d/d 1/4/08.

And all about Penang...I love Penang...I shall return one day. Best regards, Lee.

Thanks Lee for sharing your experience. I will visit your blog and catch up those older posts.

By the way, the Youth Park is located somewhere on the way to Botanical Garden. You know the Tuff Club? Once you pass the Tuff Club, there's the Heritage Club near the corner of a junction, right? You follow the road and turn left into a small lane. The park is deep inside there...
